Dear family and friends,
We
hope you all had a wonderful Fathers Day weekend and want you to know
how much Dad appreciated the tributes via email, instagram, facebook and
by phone.
The
last two weeks we have been in Trindad, Tobago and Suriname attending
zone meetings and conducting interviews. We have had some very spiritual
discussions with our missionaries about our Heavenly Father. Dad has
been trying to help them understand that when we ask investigators and
even members "Do you believe in God?" and they "Yes"...we need to make
sure that we ask more questions to see who God is to them. There have
been a myriad of answers in an area of the world with so many different
cultures and religions. It is not enough to believe in Him...we must
"know" Him. John 17:3 It has been a very enlightening discussion that
has been spiritually and emotionally charged as we have read together
the first vision and outlined the characteristics of who God really is.
Dad had them read the last sentence of verse 16 and then 17 of Joseph
Smith History. Today at our zone meeting the missionaries listed 19
truths that they found about God in these two verses alone. The spirit
was incredible.
We are grateful for a loving
Heavenly Father that knows us by name and asks us to humbly develop a
relationship with Him through faith, repentance and prayer. Everything
in the restored gospel falls into place when we understand who He is.
TOBAGO
visit---Sister Henry is a home bound member who asks the missionaries
to visit every Sunday, so she can partake of the sacrament. Her
granddaughter sat in on the lesson with her and was very reverent.
Sister Henry has a personality and testimony that is bigger than life.
We wish you could meet her.
SURINAME
visit---It is the rainy season and much of the city has been flooded.
We had a minute to take some pictures that tell the story much better
than we can.
We love you!
Trini and Dad
